Default Fuel system questions

Vehicle info:
85 C10 5.3 w/243 heads milled .025 and small cam. Eventually it will have a turbo, not looking for a magical HP# but would like to go deep into the 10s and still drive it anywhere. Hoping for 3500lbs w/driver
Induction will most likely be a super Vic w/4150 style TB with appropriately matched cam and supporting mods.
There will be a fuel cell in the rear where the spare tire used to be.
Now the questions:
1. Fuel pump is it better to get 1 big or multiple fuel pumps?
2. Is internal or external better? Why or why not?
3. -8/-6 feed/return good or -8/-8 better or do I need to go bigger? Is aluminum fuel tube good or is it better just to use AN hose all around?
4. Where is the optimal spot to have your FPR? Before or after the fuel rail? Do I feed both rails and mount the FPR in between? Feed 1 rail and flow through the other rail then the FPR?
I plan to "learn w/ 5.3 and then build a real motor much later down the road
Right now my plan is a custom fuel cell with 1 340lph while its n/a with the ability to add another pump or 2 when needed. Currently running a stock tank, vette reg/filter, and hi press AC Delco in tank pump, I need weight in the rear.
