I don't plan on running a surge tank and don't see a problem. I will be running a sumped tank with foam. It's not much different than running internal pump(s). Edit: What are your plans for the car?

Car is just a weekend cruiser that will see the drags every now and then.I will be using 100 micron pre filters into 2x 044s y block then -8 .if i can get away with using this combo saves me having to muck around with surge tank.Only make around 500 rwhp turbo 6 cyl

It is very common in the import world (I used to toy with Hondas) to run 044's directly from a sumped tank. As long as the pump is below the fuel level so it is gravity fed I am not sure what your concern is. They will not draw fuel up from a lower fuel level.

Ran dual 044s in tank and had them offset (one inlet slightly above the other) to reduce chances of fuel cavitation. This was in an import tank so the size of the fuel tank was less than ideal.

You should never allow any EFI pump to suck air. So wouldnt matter what brand it was, if you need a surge tank you need a surge tank, if you dont, you dont.

044's have no special needs or requirements
