We just installed a set of Jay/Absolute speed 5.3 heads on a car (C5) that already had our G5X-1 cam 228/234 and mid length headers. The only NEW mod was the heads only. The car had 369 rwhp before, with just the stock LS1 heads and mid length headers. the after number was 424rwhp. Compression was 11.1:1 and we still had stock injectors because the G5X1 cam is not big enough to need the larger injectors yet (but close).

This was the new C & C port from Jay, and I just wanted to post up these numbers since they were extra high for just a head swap.

I did some tuning, but this was a G5X-1 daily driver, so the guy was just interested in nice driver, never raced, power.

I have a graph, but I am leaving for a race, so if this is still up on Tuesday, I will post it up.

Just got a set of those heads yesterday. Had to wait a couple months for them but they should be worth the wait, very nice looking portjob.

Probably because it was untuned would be my guess.....getting the A/F right and adding some timing could have brought that up to 380rwhp easy.

I was told 369 was the cam only tuned,the car doesnt have alot of the bolt ons. this is not the first time I have seen 50+ hp from just a head swap with my 2.5 heads and of course with the added airflow tuning is necesary

just backed up another 50+ hp stg2.5 5.3l heads only install. 394 before with a g5x2 447 after. Customer is going to try an lsx and see what that does on top of the heads

The 5.3 heads are on SALE for only 1295. plus 300 for core so 1595. 5.7 heads are 1295 no core charge.
