Default Help with pinging....

Generally what is that cause of engine ping? I have a friend with a 94 camaro (yes i know its not an LS1) and shes been getting ping in her v6 camaro. Isn't ping usually low octane? Fuel injector cleaner maybe?

two things mostly, not enough fuel, or too much timing. There isnt a octane low enough that shouldnt be fine in a V6

if her V6 is pinging then I'd run some injector cleaner through the car, and if it still occurs after a few tanks adding injector cleaner, run a GM Top End cleaner through the car (may have excessive carbon buildup on pistons causing increased compression which can cause pinging/knock)

then to top it off change the spark plugs
