What spline is my axle? Will this work?

What spline is my axle? Will this work? So I have a 99 Z28 6 speed. The previous owner I'm guessing killed the rear end and put in a 2.73 automatic rear end with a new TA girdle. I found a 10 bolt with 3.73 gears out of a 99, but it is missing 1 of the axles. The price is just the cost of gas getting it hear and giving him my old one back when I'm done. I believe the 3.73 has 26 spline axles, and I believe I have 28, is there a way to find out with out pulling out an axle and counting? Also If I do need to get another 26 spline axle, what would you guys recommend doing as far as finding one?
