Today my car has taken the notion to start n "drive itself" . I had it parked in gear with hand brake engaged on a slightward downhill slope. Car sat for 2 hrs n then just took off across the road ( major highway at that) by itself. I had to go get it outta the ditch n parked it for a few more hours with the tire turned into the curb . Anyway drove car back home and sat for 3 hours then did it again. I had it in neutral so thank God it didn't take off anywhere. I recently replaced the starter with one from Advance . After installing the Advance starter the car took off on me while hooking up the battery . Literally had to ride the radiator support till i could get battery unhooked . Keys in my pocket the whole time . Possible bad starter??? Checked wiring . No shorts ! I hooked battery back up after i went for a ride n haven't had a problem till today . Like i said i checked the wiring to make sure i did goof up and my work was all good . Seriously who cant hook up 2 wires? :/ owned car for 13 yrs and never a problem till new starter. Also never had a starter force a vehicle to take off on me after installing it

People ignore stuff they think is BS.
You are saying, your car is in Park, starts the engine itself, and moves forward, with the parking brake on? Is this an Automatic or a Manual? In order for such a thing to happen, 4+ of the safety systems on the car would have to fail simultaneously.
Or, you have a girlfriend who hates you and has a key.

DISCONNECT THE THE BATTERY SOON and replace the starter. What you describe is the number one reason for car fires that are parked in gear. The starter engages and because you parked it in gear it starts moving. If it encounters a object that it can't move the car over the battery-starter-wiring overheats and BABOOM everything goes up in flames. It more common that you know. This is why cars use a fusable link, its supposed to burn open before the battery or wiring etc go up in flames.
Friend of mine was a Fire chief, he seen this happen many many times.

Car is a manual . It did it twice in the same day just outta the blue . Also last night i noticed the security light in the ddah blinking twice as much as normal . Then within 2 hours time the alarm just went off for no reason . I was standing beaide the car both times it did it so i know theres no reason at all it shouldve went off.

Beyond that short, I'd also get your parking brakes properly adjusted. The car should not move with those things on. (The last time your rear rotors were changed, the parking brakes were probably not adjusted properly.)

I checked every inch of the wiring . No shorts . If it was shorted out it would do it constantly or more often and while driving . Not after being parked for 2-3 hours undisturbed. .
