Default Want new wheels.....

In the quest to shed weight, I want to grab some new wheels. Have OE C5 5-spoke and looking at either Miro or VRM. Would like some thoughts on this. Black 2000 TA. Car is on Koni SA with Strano springs. Miro 711 or the VMR V703 or V708 Or V710. I guess they are both lighter than stock? Looking to do a BBK in march so want to offset the added weight. Thanks to all in advance.

I run the same OEM Z06 wheels, they fit with minor spacers and you can run 315's on 4 corners. plus the price is way better if you can find them than aftermarket

If you find the right deal.... kinda like myself; you can't beat CCW's , 17lbs 17 x12 's no spacers

OP, what's the weight of the VMR/Miro wheels you are looking into?

This may help:

Knowing that you want a BBK, I would look no smaller than 18" wheels. I'm running factory 17" 10spokes and while I would WANT a BBK...I have not out-driven the LS1 swap I did on my LT1.

I agree with Boss, can't go wrong with CCW. There are advantages to having a 3 piece wheel.

Likewise -- I'm also running the OEM C5 Z06 wheels.

I found a great deal on my setup and would have a tough time rationalizing spending the amount of money it would take for an aftermarket upgrade.

Keep in mind running 17" limits your tire options. You are able to find way more tires in 18"s and racing scrubs are easily available in 18 vs 17.

I had no problems finding tires in the 275-40R17 size. Tons of options at Tirerack.

I've had good luck with finding 275/40/17 in the past, however it seems to be getting tougher to find "newer" scrubs in this size. Fortunately there are still a few good "off the shelf" options still out there.

What are you selling? lol

But I agree on going 18's for better used tire selection.

I wish Rivals came in 275/40/17's...

Sorry been busy. I have the OEwheels C5 18x9.5, Idk the weight on either wheel. Guess I should research that part. I like the look of the Mirros vs what I have now. 1st is at work, bad light. 2nd at home. Just doesn't look right to me.

If this change is for function, IMO, who cares what they look like. I'd run Pink wheels on my Purple Z28 if they were a very light/function wheel.

Just toss one of your wheels/tires on a scale and see what you get. Then go to the link I posted and compare it to other OEM or aftermarket options.

Getting a lighter wheels is only a matter of $$$.

What doesn't look right is the size of that rat behind your car in the second picture lol.

I am pretty partial to these as lighter weight option.

The knock off ccw's from them 18x11 weigh about #20 but they are not in GM lug pattern. Are these GM pattern and 18x11??
