If its an average driver, nothing really. If its a good driver, lid/filter, exhaust, tires, and a good driver.

If its modded, a lot..

auto- lid, K/N, Stall conv. headers, exhuast. and you will be win easy.
maunal- pretty much same except no stall conv. maybe racing clutch.

the newer cobras are better than most all other cobras but they are still slow.. dont ever buy a mustang is my philosophy. its like 36000. way to much for not enough power.

they trap 109 or so stock. Nittos, lid and exhaust will work

BTW they are seeing numbers as high as 500rwhp/500wtq with boltons.

not worth 36k?

i bought my ss for 29k...id say ive spent 4k and im nowhere near those numbers

If it's stock a few bolt on's and some tires should get you the win if you can drive. For those saying that the cobra is still slow must have a monster motor or something because once they begain to mod those cobra's and throw in a good driver you will need a LOT to beat one.

i spent 15000 on my car.. and with the difference of 21000 dollars i think i can do some mods to kill a cobra... HA> the new cobras are nice.. and pretty fast. but 36000 bucks.. not to mention bucks for boltons.. i mean i dont have that kind of cash. plus its a supercharged 4.6L engine.. stock ls1 wit no supercharger and no aftermarket heads or cam or anything.. but just simply spending 1000 dollars for bolt on things can beat a supercharged mustang.. i think ill chose the ls1

Apples and oranges. They are two different breeds. A 125 shot on an A4 or M6 will have you hanging with a stock 03. BTW, blown cobras ARE NOT slow

Yep, 12.5-12.9 @ 110-112mph is really slow for bone stock.

I'm halfway tempted to break out the sign. Oops, I did. What's next...hp/L?

To answer the question, there is little that needs to be done to beat a stock '03 Cobra. If the guy is a good driver, an LS1 will need the basics...lid, catback, tires. Longtubes should seal the deal every time.

with equal drivers, drag radials and cam wouldn't hurt, good drivers and boltons with exhaust you better have a big cam good tuning and full exhaust, nitrous if you plan n beating one.a;

I out ran one twice in a row at the track with a lid and flow master muffler only. He went 13.49 at 108 and I went 13.35 at 107. I did kill him off the line both times. I guess he was not a good driver but i won.

Unit, here's one for you........how fast can a decent driver take an 03/04 Cobra with bolt-ons?? I'm thinking full exhaust, tires, CAI, pulley, and wahtever else a Cobra would normally bolt on.

Without nitrous or a different blower, the fastest I've heard of was an 11.19 @ 126mph. The same guy went 11.22 on F1's!

That guy has phenominal driving skills though. 11.5's at 124-125mph are common with full bolt-ons.

Sounds good. A4 LS1's with bolt ons can go mid-high 11's.......I'd like to be able to hang with or beat full bolt on 03/04 Cobras from a dig when I get my bolt ons finished. Guess I have a shot at that

I was in hometown a couple weeks ago and was talking to a guy in an 03. They are pretty hot cars, but I am not into Mustangs, especially since they are the most popular cars and EVERYONE has a mustang, lol. I can just go down street here where I live and I bet I can spot a dozen if not two dozen Mustangs. They do not attract any attention because everyone has them! ON the other hand in my Ram Air TA I get looks from everyone.

I don't think it would take much to beat one. One thing that I did not see anyone recommending is lower gears. I have 4.10's in my TA. While the top end may not be quite as high as 3.73's the stop to stop light is very fast! A guy I know with a 96 LT1 said he won't mess with 4.10's.

If you want a few mods for fairly cheap go for a higher intake lid (With K&N of course), a good MAF, and a computer programmer. For a little more $$$ the possibilities are endless...a good (ported and polished) throttle body, new intake manifold, a more powerful cam, lower gears, less restrictive exhaust...use your imagination.

There are very few actually who have '03 Cobras.

Not trying to be rude, but 4.10's and your mods will not make your car "very fast". I know that fast is all personal reference, but it's still a 13 second car...which isn't fast.

I agree with you 100% that WS6's look badass.

...and what "computer chip" do you have?

I am not sure what chip I have but I plan on checking it out soon. I have only had the car approximately a month or so. I plan to do more mods soon including...beefier intake manifold, higher performance cam, underdrive pulleys...maybe more, guess I will see where it goes, lol. I am not too intimidated by most cobras, lol, but I am interested to see how the new 05's do anyway. Got nothing against Fords. I have a 94 Thunderbird that was the first car I ever bought myself and it has been a great car.

I was poking fun at your "chip". Sorry.
LS1's don't have chips like Mustangs do.

Mod that sucker!

BTW...the '05's are sloooooooowwww. I drove one.
