Default help with verter choise

hi..my car is stock holden monaro with (ls1/4l60E /3.07 rear end) and i want to install a tourqe converter....
the trans has 2 modes
in power mode if i take off slowly it will raise the shift by 1000RPM
for example when i go from green light with little gas it shifts at 2.500RPM at normal mode while shifting at 3500RPM in PWR mode (with the same acceleration pull with the car feeling loose)....i want to use the TC in PWR mode and i dont want it to affect much on the normal mode ( car is daily driver)so what stall do you recommend? and what are the changes about to happen to shifts ?on both modes? thanks alot oh ...and what is locking/unlocking the verter?

You could try a Yank SS3600/SS3800 or a SY3500 (depending on the type of tyres you're running), a TCI SSF3500 or if you're really game, a locally made Dominator converter.

I'm about to install a SY3500 in my VT Commodore.
