Default how would i know if i have preload problems?(comp r lifters)

i just installed the g5x2 cam,and my agostino block is decked. i'm using 7.3. pushrods(agostino installed them)my car is not throwing any codes and is running good for no tune. when i re-installed the rockers(stock)all i did is tq-them down to 22lbs of tq,no shims at all. i did'nt check a thing. i was told the lg cam has the same size base circle of my old c1 cam. so if i have preload problems, how would i know.THANKS, mike c.

Has it been on a dyno? A quick drop off on the HP curve could be a problem with preload. It was on my car. My car fell off at 6300 like a rock. I set preload right, redynoed and HP did not fall of at all.

mike k-my valvetrain has low noise,i can only hear it with the hood up and if i put my face by the motor. power seems to be fine and it revs all the way to my shift light(6,600)
steve-i will be going to the dyno and tuning on 6/10/04. if i do have preload problems how can i fix it? i have stock rockers, comp r lifters and i have 7.3 pushrods because my block is decked. LG told me the to just tq-the rockers down to 22lbs and that's it. THANKS, mike c.

If you do have problems you will need to shim the rockers or get adjustable rockers. You can get the shims for less than $15.00 from MTI. They are SVO shims. You get 2 sets of shims one .015 and one .030 thick shims.

As long as you torqued them to the 22lbs. everything should be okay. you will know when you throw it on the dyno.
