Default New 418 complete yesterday

Guys, I didn't want to post till I was done. She is home and ready for the dyno in a couple weeks. I drove about 60 miles yesterday to get all the bugs out. I will post up the numbers on here when I get them.

Anyway, my 383 had a couple bad lifters one morning, so I yanked the heads to see what was up. While waiting I got the go faster bug and ordered a new 418 with more cam and big bore AFR 230 heads.

Anyone interested in my 383, I will post in the 4 sale area soon. Only 14k miles and a proven mid ten second motor.

Actually kind of a dumb move as I already had a good motor...lol. Now I'm down $9500 and a sh*t load of labor. I could have slapped in a set of lifters and went on my way

Hey Kevin...hope all is well.

I have everything pulled out again. My Tex clutch wouldn't hold the new power so I had to buy a twin. While everything is pulled, I sent the diff and trans back to RPM for a checkup. It has been 6 years since they were built.
Clutch is in and waiting on RPM to ship my stuff back.

By the time I get this stuff back, installed, tuned, and the 500 actual street miles on the clutch..it will be in the 90's here every day. The track may have to wait till cooler weather. I measured the track temp in August one day and it was 165 degrees.
