Default Need part #'s for 99 Z28 rear 02's

Well, I guess I'm learning the hard way about what happens when you have longtubes. My tuner says I'll need to get new rear heated o2's installed in both front banks and get it to not throw codes to get her re ls1edit dyno tuned. I thought it had something to do with lack of backpressure throwing them off but he says (and I agree) that the more rearward placement of the o2's is letting them run too cool. Says I might be buying them once a year. Seems as if fuel may be fouling them, I don't know. I would rather find some aftermarket ones (ie bosch) with a crazy warranty if you know what I mean. Now my Z runs like poop at part, medium throttle. Throws codes for insufficient switching both front banks, and one slow to respond. Thanks for any help.

how is it your running a hooker ORY and rear o2 sensors , did you have o2 bungs welded in? what you need to do is just delete the rear o2 sensors and dont even bother ******* with them. rear o2 sensors do not affect driveability in the least.

I said it wrong. I need rear o2's for the front bungs because my tuner (Jeff Creech) says the heaters are better and may last longer. I already have the rear 02's deleted in ls1edit.

You should not have any issues with the JetHot headers. If the O2s are fouling out they were either fouled prior to the tuning or your tuner has things way too rich. Once tuned correctly you should not have any problems due to O2 placement.

Thanks for that info. I don't know if they are fouling, but it continually throws those 3 o2 codes. I don't know why else it would. I think it's way rich but then again, I've never run without cats either.

Would my 02's cause it to surge and have bad driveability? I'm starting to think something else may be going on as well. Ok, duh, I'm sure o2's would affect driveability, I just never really see it here at work (Ford dealer). I'm thinking exhaust leak, anyone else have this problem? I have no misfires either.

I'm going to try swapping out the Maf, as we've seen that happen on Fords here as well. Hope that's it!!!!

If you still have some extra o2's (your rear ones that werent reused) try plugging them into the front sensor locations. Sounds like you definitely have one that is messed up (or maybe 2). It wont matter whether you use front or rear o2's for the 2 front locations, just so long as you have 2 that work.

Tried that, having the same codes. Both front bank 02's show insufficient switching. I'm wondering if putting a restrictive Borla plate in my catback might help. The MAF wasn't it. I ran a 12.49 @ 117.59 Thursday night in nasty humid 85 degree air so I'd say it runs ok WOT. It's my everyday driving that is driving me nuts. It acts like it has no power at light throttle until around 3500-4000 then it kicks in like there's a restriction. I guess if the 02's are leaning it out too much it could cause this??? My pcv elbow is busted open on the passenger side valve cover. I just rigged it up with a staple gun until I can get a new one of those. I wonder if that's enought of a vacuum leak to cause all of this?

After laying on my back last night with the car running, I found a big ol exhaust leak right where the passenger side collector meets the y. Gotta put her up in the air today. Hope this is it!!
