Default TTP LS6 block Absolute Speed Heads + old setup

Old Set up

Stock Heads, TR224/224 112LSA, Hooker Catback, Hooker Headers, Off road Ypipe, ASP pulley, Lid, Maf Ends, 3.73 gear. 17K miles on car.

New Set up

TTP built lunati LS6 block, Absolute Speed Stage 2 6.0L heads, Kooks Headers, Off road Ypipe, Meziere Waterpump, Hooker Catback, TTP Equalizer Cam V.2, ASP pulley, Lid, Maf Ends, 3.73 gear, Ported TB, LS6 intake.
About 160 miles on the block, still braking in.

Im going back to TTP in about 6 weeks for an LSx intake, cut out and some more tuning. Id like a new catback too being how mine has some dings and welding errors on it. With the break in miles i should have a healthy 450+ monster. The car is a blast to drive and drives quite well. Not as user friendly as the 224 cam but the sound and power more then make up for that.

Thanks TTP and Absolute Speed.

Id like to see what the car dyno's with the cutout alone before you do the lsx intake. I would guess an extra 10 hp easy with a cutout. Maybe more. I know the hooker catback isnt one of the best flowing catbacks either. Good luck with the car, now break it in and go racing.

Actually the hooker is a very good hp producing exhaust but I do agree the cutout should be worth 10RW easy. This is a 6sp car I would figure,do u have a 12-bolt or a 10-bolt?

Pretty good hp....

Mike, the 2 cars that went before me both gained big when opening a cut out. One went from 385,386 to 395 on the final pull with cut out. The other went 404, 409 to 426 when opening the cut out. I pulled 427, 436, 437 through the Hooker. My hooker catback flows but its old, the muffler has a few dings and there is some weld inside the I pipe. Im going to replace it. The electric cut out is going on pretty soon. Ill re dyno it up in NYC in Late July early August. Im sure Matt at TTP would like to dyno the car when i get there, then do the LSx and perhaps some 30 lb injectors then do it again. I know there is 450 + in this set up as it is now. I just need to put some miles on it and as you said, get the cut out. BTW, this was dynoed infront of atleast 40 people during the ATL Fbody gathering with air filter, stock belts, no tricks whatsoever.

I'd love to know the specs of this cam,I heard its pretty big 230-595 or in around that area.I believe if u add the LSX/90TB u will easily hit 450RW but lose another 10RW from a rearend change.I'd expect 440RW after a 12-bolt and LSX is in the car and all tuning it done.

Good luck....

Awesome scoobie sounds like it all worked out for you. Your numbers are great and with the cutout/lsx they will only get better. Grats on the setup!!

We are pleased with the drivability of the car. It screams through the gears, but little to no surge under 1500rpms which is amazing for the size of this cam. The intake Scoobie bought does not seem to be producing the numbers at all. We'll be swapping on a LSX and doing the final dyno #'s. He went from 419 (At 35 miles on the block) to 437 (With 162 miles on the block)... The motor was real tight to turn over and it is starting to loosen up. Before we throw anything further into the car we'll be dynoing again with probably 3000 miles on the block when Scoobie comes back up.

As most know we turned 438rwhp (450+ on a stock 10-bolt) through a 12-bolt with 4.11's with the first revision of this cam on stock ls6 heads. We know the cam makes the power and the added compression will also help so we know this car has a lot more power left on the table.

Bottom line is Scoobie is very happy with the car, and we were happy when it left. We'll be seeing him again within the next few months so look for those new #'s then.

Matts right about the surge. There is a little surge now and then from about 1500 down. I have 3.73 gears and will be switching to a 4.10 gear when Matt installs the 12 bolt late summer. That should take care of all of that. Car has not stalled on me once and starts up every time too. As far as drivability as a whole, the car opperates very well. Its not a 224 Cam, you know its got a cam in it, but for the size, im more then suprised how well it drives. Idle is great, and it finds idle within 2 seconds of first start and almost immediatly on hot starts. Idle does not seem to be affected by the AC although there is a bit more surge from 1700 down if your barely touching the gas. Thats about it, over all im very happy and couldnt have asked for more.

I don't know if you would gain 10rwhp with just a cutout, but I may be wrong.
I only gained 2rwhp with my set up with the cutout open. The Hooker catback is very freeflowing. However the cutout may benefit more with heads?

There is so much speculation about what this part and that part can or can't do... Bottom line is we'll get Scoobie back in here top of August we'll dyno the car as is now and see what the motor puts out before the swap. Then we'll be throwing on the LSX and some assorted goodies.

Should be intersting to see, after the motor loosens up, through an lsx and a cutout or True duals. The boys and Girl At TTP are very good at setting up killer combos. The 6.0l heads love the lsx, lets see if she will pull a healthy 475 with the new bolt ons. Not bad with a set of dome pistons
