Default Cammed guys: Where does your car idle?

Hey guys, how low can you get your car to idle? Mine currently idles around 800 RPM, but I'd like to go lower, to 750 or hey 700 if I could get away with it. Think its doable?

Mine is set at 920...

I wanted to go lower, but the cam wouldn't allow it.. The car would try to stall everytime I was going to a stop.

This '02 idles smoothly at 500...heck, probably 400 (haven't tried that) and runs 11.20s NA with 3.23 gears at 3525 lbs. It also gets over 23 MPH averaging 80+ MPH. Big cams are HIGHLY overrated, IMO.

Keep working on your tune. I have my TR230 idling at 850.

man I wish I had countless hours to spend time with our tuner. Our biggest problem is start up, especially cold start. I can't believe some of you guys can get your cars to idle 800-900 easy with your big cams.

Oh and to answer your question...based on what everyone else is saying and that fact that you have a pretty small cam I don't think it would have a problem idling around 750, especially if you can spend time with it getting it just right.

3 cams -- all idled around 900 rpm, but would probably idle lower if I really wanted to.
X1, TSP231/237, and now my 235/239

looks like i got the highest one. i use to idle perfect at 900 with the M6 and then i installed a TH400. i have idle problems ever since. now i am at 1050 with 2 hugh holes in the TB and an open loop idle. now it is almost perfect but still dies from time to time. although my cam is pretty hugh.

I set my TR224/224 112LSA to idle at 800 (stock M6 RPM). It "could" idle as low as 600 but it was almost impossible to drive (you had to really work it up to a stop).

For my new cam I'm hoping it needs to idle around 1000-1200RPM
