Default cost of new PCM and dealer flashing????

I have a '00 Firehawk.

Anybody know how much a new PCM costs and how much to get it flashed to a stock file??

Thinking about buying a new PCM and having it dyno tuned at LS1Speed. My current PCM is locked by Ed Wright and I really don't feel like sending it to him to unlock it and lose something I already paid for

thanks,
Paul

I think i got my spare PCM for 100 or 150
email valvegod@aol.com and ask him .. that's where I got mine

It cost me 50 bux per PCM to have the PCM flashed, some dealerships will do it cheaper some I've heard will charge upwards of 100 bux (which is insane for something that takes the tech 10 mins to do)

According to the service department at Good Chevrolet in Alameda, CA, new '99-'02 F-body PCMs are no longer available. A refurbished replacement PCM costs $227 exchange. The core charge is $200 so the total cost for a spare refurbished PCM would be $427.

yep, I just found out Valvegod and Ion Soltan both can get used PCM's and flash them..

Valvegod wants $200 flashed to your VIN and Ion wants $130 flashed to your VIN.

$427 is freaking CRAZY!!

At the prices posted might be better off to get a PCM from PCM for Less and pay the $125 core charge. It will come with a mail order tune.

GM Parts Direct sells a pcm for around $114 without the core charge.

If the dealer can flash off the car they will probably charge same as if you drive the car in (about $130). $114 + shipping + $130 = $244 + shipping (about $10).

I paid $20 at my local dealer for a flash. Got the spare one from Valvegod.
