Default Getting my LS1 on Monday

Hey everyone, I haven't posted on here in a while. I finally sold my 99 Honda Prelude for a 2001 Z28 (only 9000 miles) that i'm picking up on Monday. I've educated myself fairly well on the basics, but i'll definitely have some questions coming up. I'm now proud to be a true LS1 owner.

Congrats. With all the people here I'm sure all of your questions will be answered. This is the best LS1 site there is.

Congrats on the new purchase! Get ready to fall as another victim to modding an LS1. It will drian your pocketbook and your time. Beware. Besure to reasearch and plan your parts wisely. It will save you money in the long run.

Thanks guys. I'm pretty familiar with driving some cars with some power. I've been lucky and been able to drive some pretty insane cars (front and rwd). I've already been looking into mods and I'm going to be very careful to make sure I do everything right the first time. I'll get some pictures on here once I pick it up. It's pretty stock less and SLP air lid and a hooker cat-back.

Congrats man. I recently sold a Mustang GT for a T/A. Dude, the power difference was amazing. God it feels good no longer being the new guy.

It's an M6, I'm not big on anything with an auto in it except for the AMG cars by Mercedes. Hopefully the car's lack of power windows or locks, no t-tops, TC, or rear defogger won't become too much of a pain. I live in NM so TC isn't really needed 99% or the time. I just couldn't pass up the fact that the car only had 9000 "old man" miles on it.

I paid $17,300. The guy just wouldn't budge at all. That price is definitely on the high end of the spectrum for a bare bones Z28, but with the babied miles that were put on the car, I think it's worth it. I doubt the car has ever been reved past 3000rpm lol.

Haha. Don't get me wrong, I loved that Prelude tons, I babied the heck out of it. I just needed a change to something quite different and an LS1 was the best way to go about it. Two great cars, both built to be great in completely different respects though.

Yeah, where is the SN change that I thought you were getting along with that T/A?!?! Get with the damn program!

I propose the same for you as well, MJSLude99.
Congrats on your purchase and welcome to the LS1 club.

I would check it for the 1LE code on the door sticker if it is stripped down like you said. It is odd to see a Z28 w/o pwr locks or windows. You might have one of the rare factory race cars maybe.

I will as soon as I get it tomorrow late afternoon. The only option it has on it is the hurst shifter. I assume the 1LE code is pretty obvious to find if it is in fact there. Thanks for bringing that up.

I wouldn't exactly consider it rice. It was clean and mostly stock except for some suspension mods. No fart cannon to be found.

No fart cannon on a modified Honda? Consider your Prelude to be a rare item!!
