The GFX debate "kids" vs "adults"
Is it just me or are most of the people that are against GFXs are the older crowd on here and the ones for it are the younger crowd? Guess its just b/c a generation gap Personally I've seen alot that look really good on these cars, but some do look pretty RICE though

T/A: I love to see big wheels, lowered, looking very modern
Formula: I love to see small drag wheels, big slicks and a rake.
What's cool about these cars is that you can go either way with them, and they both look awesome. Sure, anyone can get a huge wing, a hideous GFX kit that's poorly assembled and painted and make an F-Bod look like crap, but hopefully the few here that would want to have the guidance from the others. To me, a WW chin spoiler that is tacked on is ugly. a WW chin spoiler that is smoothed into the bumper as if it came from the factory looks really good.

I'm 20 and I hate body kits, ground effects, and wings of all kinds. Not a big fan of T/As because of the extra exterior crap.
I don't think it has much to do with age. A lot of kids probably think it's cool because others are doing it.

I've grown up with muscle cars my whole life (camaro's, t/a's, roadrunner, cuda) and I love those cars to death they just look sharp and are very beastly. I hate the big wings on the cars and like i said only a FEW gfx's look good on the cars. I do agree though it needs to be tastefully done and it needs certain other mods to help make it look at little better IMO

Personally, at age 29 I absolutely love automotive design and making a car look better. I think the market for our f-body's is so limited to the 3 or 4 gfx that have been out for almost 10 yrs. I am in the process right now of re-doing my interior. I draw and create all the time, but have no fabrication skills whatsoever. I'm not a big fan of all the gfx kits for imports out there, most of them are hideous. But there are those few 350z or rx7 kits that make the car look 10x better. A few Supra's as well.
The appearance section lately has turned into a large number of members screaming "Rice" when someone does anything other than torque thrust II's or an SS hood. There are some people that can't even ask where to buy neons or a vertical door kit without 20 replies of how ugly it is. The question wasn't "what do you think about it?", the question was "where can I find it" and the post should only get replies from people who can help, and not just be asses about it. Why come into the appearance section if all you're gonna do is scream rice?
I think the right kit for our cars would look awesome. There is something that needs to be done to the headlights of the 98+ camaros and the front and back bumpers. A nice rounded cowl hood would be nice too, instead of looking like a cardboard box on top of a stock hood. I don't think age has too much to do with it.

I'm 18, I have the WW kit in my room. It's been there for almost a year though... I can't decide whether or not I like it. I DO like the Mecham spoiler though. It's sitting in my room as well. People who say it's ugly probably haven't seen it up close. IMO it looks great.
The GFX can go either way. I hate the Xenon kit on Camaros, I hate the factory appearance package, I hate the Vizage kit, and the WW kit is borderline. I've seen some cars that look pretty good with it.
Firebird Evolution on the other board has designed a kit. I think it looks really good actually. Not GFX, but rather the entire bumpers, and side skirts. Here's a pic.
If anyone has a better place to host, I've got a pic that's bigger.

It depends on the installation. I'm not sure if I'm young or old (33) in your comparison, but I happen to like body kits that are blended into the car using fiberglass or other filler. The choppiness of the "stick on" kits bugs me.

Im 19 and don't really like gfx, but if done right and the right kit I will admit that I have seen a couple of f-body's with gfx that looked good, but I still myself would probably not put on any gfx.

what exactly does "RICE" look like?
im 20 and think some GFX look good while others just look tacked on. for something to look good it has to go with the overall lines and theme of the car.

Oh yeah...something on topic?!?!?! Just to throw my opinion into the mix...It's my belief that GFX are definintely application based. Some F-bods look good with them and some look even better without. I've yet to see an F-bod with GFX that I didn't like though. Oh yeah! A little clarification on the differences between GFX and a body kit. It's always been my thought that GFX are smaller pieces that are just added onto the current body config. Whereas body kits(rice) are replacement pieces. I.E. that T/A kit from Andy's Auto Sports. I think that's the only true body kit I've seen for F-bods. Besides that sweet *** blue camaro with the flared out fender wells. If anyone has pictures of that, you need to post them.
