1) Minor weight differences due to more gingerbread on the TA (maybe 30-50 lbs more for a WS6 vs Z28, if that much) yet I've heard people say 100-300 lbs which I highly doubt.

2) Pretty sure Pontiac classifies the model variations broken down within the "Pontiac Firebird" classification.
A) Pontiac (GM)
b. Firebird
* Firebird (v6)
* Formula (v8) non-TA spoiler
* TransAm (v8)
* WS6 RamAir TransAm (v8)
* FireHawk (v8)

3) No idea what you mean by spare parts?

I think you mean, what's the difference in the mechanics of the cars. How interchangeable they are, correct? I would venture to say that 98% of the parts between the Camaro and Firebird models are the same (mechanically that is, obviously many subtle cosmetic difference). Only difference off the top of my head is the headlights (motors in the Firebird, fixed on the Camaro).

every nut bolt and and weld is the same(interchangable) with both cars...the only differences are the body panels. The z28 SS is a Z28 with Ram Air, a larger spoiler, and upgraded catback(basic LT1 but with Ram Air and Exhaust). The very same thing applies to the WS6...just a basic LT1 with Ram Air and Exhaust. The Firehawk is a SLP specific car that GM gave SLP leeway in upgrading, but it comes with the exact same LT1 as all of them do, just with different cold ait intake, exhaust(catback), and suspension.

ps. The Firebird Formula is a LT1 in a 6 cylinder's body. It doesnt have the upgraded body panels(spoiler, front bumper, and ground effects).

Firebird - 6 Cyl
Firebird Formula - 8-Cyl in a 6-Cyl's body panels
Firebird Trans Am - 8 Cyl with upgraded body panels
Firebird Trans Am WS6 - Same as Trans Am but with Ram Air hood and different catback exhaust system, 17x9 wheels
Firebird Firehawk - Trans Am with different SLP hood, slp's aftermarket intake design, different wheels, upgraded catback, upgraded suspension, and a limited number produced.

Camaro - 6 Cyl
Camaro RS - 6 Cyl with body panels bolted onto the spoiler, bumper, and lower body panels
Camaro Z28 - 8 Cyl
Camaro Z28 SS - 8 Cyl with larger spoiler, ram air hood, 17x9 wheels
