Default Should output shaft have play?

I just took my driveshaft out to pull my center section and I noticed the output shaft of my TH400 has a good bit of side to side and up/down play. Is this normal or is there a bearing wore out? The tranny only has about 1000 miles on it.

My output shaft had a lot of play in it on my TH400 when I put it in.. I was worried since I bought it used. I've driven maybe 700 miles on it and so far it seems to be working fine.
