Default What's the latest with Darton MID sleeved blocks??

Are they holding together or coming apart?? I'm asking because I just bought a 4" Cola crank off of eBay and want to know whether I'm going to be building a 388 or a 427 for my next project... I'd much rather do the 427, but if they are having reliability problems, then I'll stick with a stock block...

I have done several with out any problems. We even have a customer in Australia running over 1200hp on his Darton block.

Default Darton MID

I've done just under fifty blocks now. We did have some problems in the beginning but these were worked out some time back. The blocks hold up very well as Nate mentioned. I just finished two blocks both of which will be turbo builds.

You do need to follow instructions as far as coolant, gaskets, etc. to ensure a trouble free engine. I wrote the manual on Darton's web site concerning these recommendations. You might want to have a look. I recommend anyone with an MID engine read the manual.
