Default SS Hood

Since i graduated high school today : , my parents are gonna buy me an SS hood for my graduation present. I have few ?'s about it.

1. Where can i find a genuine, or as close to the actual hood as i can. RKS sport or GM, whats the diff?
2. I have an SLP high flow air lid, when i get the ss hood, in order to make the scoop functional do i need to do something to the lid? If not would it make more sense to buy a non functional hood scoop, if so where could i get one?
3. Rks Sport, GM, or fibertek whos got the best quality. Price isnt an issue, i want quality.

I have a 2000 Z-28 a4.

Congrats on the graduation...

If you want quality and zero fitment issues then order it from GM (i.e. SDPC). Now seal the deal and have your parents pay for the paint job as well.

Still the one here is cheaper than the gmpartsdirect price, it was 1119.00 for my hood shipped to my area code 31705. Can anyone find it cheaper that this price listed on the site for $1,096.95? Thanks

But do i have to do any modificiation to the air lid to make the GM hood or any other hood thats "functional" to make it actually work and give me the ram air effect?

Aside from GM who has the best qaulity/craftsmenship? RK sports?

I have a whisper Lid, I did not have to do any mods to the Lid. Although I am wondering if I can get a higher raised Air Lid like on a WS6 but I dont know if it will fit. I thing americansportscardesign make's a good aftermarket hood.

Just get a GM hood. It doesn't really matter if the hood is functional or not. You already have a lid and that's as good as it's going to get.
