Default Banging rev limiter

I raced a ford lightning today and noticed that I was banging the rev limiter pretty damn hard on the 2nd to 3rd gear shift. My shift points were raised when I had my tuning done. What can I do to fix this problem? thanx.

Who tuned your car? Can you contact them for assistance?

After that you can:

Have your trans checked to make sure it is not slipping.

lower your shift points

raise your limiter.

I had this problem while fooling around with my shift points. I just lowered my shift point MPH a bit and it stopped.

Have them decrease your shift adaptation time
("desired shift time" in Edit) too. And since they
"broke it" they ought to be willing to retouch it
to something that works consistently. By way of
reference I run at 41, 81, 125MPH shiftpoints
and 5900, 6000, 6000 RPM points against a 6250
rev limiter without problems, but have a smaller
converter. So you will have a slightly higher MPH
@ RPM under hard acceleration than I do and may
need to back MPH down a little more for windage.
