4000 is a bit too much for me
even with 2.6STR
and 3.73 gears.
if i could do it over,
maybe id be happier with 3800.

nah.

edit: but i wouldnt go much higher at all.

If you plan on going to a H/C setup i'd look into a Yank SS3800-SS4000 they are a bit pricey.... but are a very good verter and pretty tight for how high of a stall speed they are rated at.

The TCI SSF3500 is very popular and a very good verter and they run about $450ish... but if it were me and I had the extra money and was planning on a H/C setup I would prolly choose the Yank SS3800 I think they are like $650...check the sponcers for prices because it's been a while since I have priced out verters. You need to go to the automatic trans forum and read through the threads over there you will find a TON of good info.........Maybe the mods will move this to the A4 section for ya
