DTC 1416 manuf. controls aux Emis. I have an 98 Z28 that runs good but it keeps popping up a DTC 1416. This car is a stick and I've run a best of 13.28 at 106+. Its bone stock minus a muffler. The car has run a best of 13.42 with the check E. light on. Any ideas? Thanks DVZ

I believe that code is the AIR system. 1415 1416 Left and right banks. I suggest changing out both check valves (gulp valves) because if one is bad the other is on it's way out also. That round valve on the air pipe just before it goes into the exhaust manifold. Bout $15 ~$20 each. Had that code on my 02 and that fixed it. Good luck. PS Car will run better with good ones. Oxygen sensors `see` it and change mixture.
