Default how to know how much is milled off head?

is there a way to know how much has been milled off a head?? something like a refrence point or something like that??

I measure bolt column on outside edge of head with vernier caliper. I can post stock thickness tonight if you care.

Ok stock spec is 1.615" <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />

This bolt column is outside row of head below exhaust ports. All heads should read the same but i cannot verify this 100%.

I was looking for this info as well. A picture of the location of the bolt column would help.
Also is this dimension, 1.615" the same for all the different casting numbers (LS1 and LS6), 853,
241 and 243?

now how about 317 castings (6.0 heads)i'm guessing they should be the same too?
