Default 02 Camaro SS with LS6 block?

I know some of the 02 Camaro SS came with a Ls6 block from the factory. Where can i find the numbers on the block?

I've heard it was somewhere on the driver side block under the headers? How could i see those numbers? Would i have to remove anything from the car to see them? Is it easier to see them from the top of the car or from under the car?

Also, What are the numbers for the LS1 block, and the LS6 block

My car has a LS6 block in it. I saw a articale i one of the magazines about a year ago with the part number in the articale. It said something like 30% of 01 and 02 LS1 cars had the LS6 block in them. Funny thing is that the dealer had to replace my motor at 33,xxx miles and I got to see the new motor before they put it in the car and I checked the numbers on it and it was a LS6 block also. They said the LS6 block is a duller grey. The numbers are on the drivers side unde the head on the motor pad. You might be able to see it with a flashlight and a mirror.

The Article you are refering to is out of GM High Tech Performance. IT was either april, may, or june issue but I cannot remember which. The block can be indentified by an ID number on the driver side deck. If I could find the article I would quote you the number but have misplaced it. The block it's self is a duller grey with less sheen to it due to the higher nickle content present in the block from the Nemak, Mexico foundry.
