If you want an '04 now and don't mind coming to socal to get it, I can refer you to someone with 6 or 7 in stock at $2500 off MSRP.

Production begins in September, so I would guess that they'll start taking orders sometime this summer like they did last year.

The two new colors are dark blue, and dark grey. Both are offered on the Monaro.

Don't take this the wrong way - but you are kidding, right?

The GTO is basically a rebadged Holden Monaro that's a current production vehicle in Australia. The US car has more HP, Pontiac styling cues and the steering wheel on the correct side - but is structurally identical to the Monaro.
Holden builds the Monaro, Commodores, the 'Ute' and now the GTO (along with maybe another model?) on the same production line. Much of the point of the GTO coming back is that the concept for building multiple types of vehicles back to back on the same line is not currently in use in the US and GM wants to build a plant(s) like that here.
And hopefully I won't get in trouble for pushing other sites - but if you go to ls1gto.com I bet you could get a lot of interesting and helpful info - and they'll have links to the new colors.

The 05 will be available soon, within a month and a half. I was in looking today and was quoted at least $2500 off msrp. Talk to your dealer and they can get you more specifics.

You are saying they'll be ready to order in a month and a half, right? They can't get a car here in a month and a half if it ran down the line today.

Perhaps they'll be taking preorders early like they did last year? I think GM is taking orders for LS2 SSRs and C6s now too, and they're still months off.

I order all of the new vehicles for my dealership and we have not recieved any option information for the 05's yet. Assuming all goes according to plan, new information should be available by July 8th.

I apologize - they put the steering wheel on the 'appropriate' side for the US. I grew up around MG's - you'd think I'd know well enough to just use RHD / LHD...

No, you were right before... it is on the correct side now. :D

I can't imagine shifting left-handed... that would suck.

Now, I've shifted left handed in a LHD vehicle before, but I was young and on a date and we won't go into more than that... ;)

I think that GM is talking about bringing the Holden Ute to the states an an "El Camino". I was in Sydney in August, and talked with a salesman at one of the Holden dealers (and sat in the HSV GTS... ). He said that there are talks of the Ute coming here as the El Camino.

The latest story on that,

It's definitely in the works, hopefully sooner than later. Did you get to see or drive any Utes while in Oz? Was the GTS the coupe or sedan?

I know this has already been discussed but are there going to be any changes for the ,05? My dealer said that the '06 may have the LS2 but didn't know if anything was going to be different for '05. Also are any rebates coming, he wouldn't tell me this either.

Confirmed so far for 2005,

400HP LS2 V8
Larger brakes with painted calipers
Optional scooped hood
Restyled spoiler
Restyled rear bumper with outlets on both sides
Two new exterior colors (dark blue, dark grey)

No word on any manufacturer rebates. I wouldn't count on any unless there are ton of 04s left by this winter.

Also(alledgedly): driver side foot rest/dead pedal.

I test drove one and while it was a blast to drive I immediatly missed the dead pedal on the left. My WS6 has one (as has every other car I've owned)
and it's one of those little features your don't think about until you're trying to brace with your foot when you dive into a corner or stick your leg somewhere on a long road trip. Belive it or not, for me this is a deal breaker.

I'll wait for the '05 model as long as I can get it without hood scoops. The pics Ilve seen to date of the hood scoops just do not blend with the lines of this car.

I also wish they could find a way to put the tank under the car and expand the trunk, but that's not a big deal.
