Check for the plastic diverter cap on the back of the engine... on ordered crate engines they are usually lacking a small plastic plug in the back of the engine behind the rear main cover... you have to pull it off your old engine and put it on the new one. This diverts oil up to the oil pressure sensor... Car will have oil on the cam and crank/bearings, but never makes it to the sensor without that plug!

pull the tranny out if you did not replace the plastic plug at the back of the engine block before installation...
It is much easier than pulling out the motor....
PS - this blows...

Well I was thinking, I hadn't driven my car in over a month and since then our yearly heatwave has rolled in (92F-94F). Last "night" I kinda tested my theory. I let the engine idle for like 20 mins and my idle psi was a little above 40psi. I then drove it around for 30 mins and the lowest it dropped was a hair below 40 (idle). I think what I really need is an oil cooler. Any recommendations?
