Default 5.7 vs. 5.3 heads

whats better to get stage 2 5.7 heads or stage 2 5.3 heads. my car just has whats in my sig. and i wanted to start planning on what heads i wanted. for cam i was deciding on the T-Rex Ver. 2, and if that was to wild the cc-Custom 4 from LS1 Speed. on the heads i noticed that both at LS1 Speed cost 1295 and for Stage 2 i just wondered what would have the better performance.

generally 5.3's give a shade more compression while keeping p to v clearance the same giving you slightly more hp.

I've got 5.3 heads milled .010 over from TEA, and Brent said if I wanted to use a larger cam like the TREX, I'd most likely have to flycut for clearance. Perhaps if the heads you get aren't milled you could get away with it. Not sure though.

yah it gets really iffy when you use the trex with heads other than stock, if the valves are larger than the stock valves it becomes a grey area and you should clay the chamber.
