Default HELP! I just can't figure it out....

Went to HRP last night hoping for some 12.0's and maybe even a high 11 with the Vig3200, but no such luck. Here are the results. There are 5 passes so this will be a long post, sorry.

Clint - 1st pass, stalling around 1500, stock shift points
60': 1.680
1/8: 7.723
MPH: 89.23
1/4: 12.331 - slamming on brakes at very end
MPH: 90.22

Me - 2nd pass, stalling around 1500
60': 1.712
1/8: 7.794
MPH: 88.58
1/4: 12.206
MPH: 112.21

Me - 3rd pass, stalling around 1500, 1-2@+2,stock on others
60': 1.700
1/8: 7.803
MPH: 87.71
1/4: 12.258
MPH: 111.16

Me:

Clint - 4th pass
60': 1.686
1/8: 7.758
MPH: 88.21
1/4: 12.210
MPH: 111.16

Clint - 5th pass, stalling around 1100
60': 1.673
1/8: 7.725
MPH: 88.24
1/4: 12.169 - a little better
MPH: 111.16 3 in a row?

What is wrong with me? I can't figure out why my 60' times suck so bad. Link in sig for all mods done on the car. I just can't figure out what I am doing wrong. Running on the ET Drags @ 15psi. I weighed the car as soon as i got there, with maybe a few gallons in the tank and with me in it it weighed 3255 lbs., we added a few more before we ran. There was no spinning off the line or any other problems, the car was hooking just fine.
Hey Lane, if you read this can you post or email me what your timeslips looked like since our cars are very similar? This was our second time out to the track with the converter, first time my car was low on tranny fluid and we were hitting rev limiter pretty bad, got all that figured out though.

Wow three 111.16s in a row! At least you MPH consistently!
Have you installed the air bag yet? Front Hals and pulling weight off of the front of the car (!swaybar) are both good ways to hack at your 60' times.

Lynda/Clint,

From what I understand the Vig's like to leave pretty much off of idle. Try doing that some. Put the air bag pressure around 15-18 PSI. Set the HALS on 1. Do you have headers or a cutout? Do you have ET Streets or Nitto's? You're there, it just takes a little tweaking, trial and error, and practive. Hang in there, good things will come.

Yeah I have the MAC setup on the car. Did not have ATAP so who knows, we may have been getting some knock somewhere, I don't know I just know I was not happy at all last night. Reading all these post about awesome 1/4 mile times and 60's with these converters and then this? ****, by the time I do get if fugured out I'll be running the same times anyways, it aint getting any colder down here.

Lynda, what 60' times have you seen with that
converter?

Next time, try just barely loading up the driveline and then smashing the throttle from as low of a RPM as possible while still loading the driveline.

Are you SURE you are not spinning? I got to admit, those 60's are pretty gay for your combo.
Give me a call... you know I will do my best to help ya out. You still have my number?

lynda, hey this is joey. i bought the hood and nitrous from yall a while back. my brothers car sounds pretty similar to your setup. its a 98z with vig3200,mac headers w/orp,asp pulley, lid, cutout, ported throttle body, skinnies, and 26x10 et drags at 17 psi and stock suspension.we stall his car up to about 1800 and the go from there.this usually gets us between 1.62 and 1.64. btw thanks for the nitrous, we sprayed it out of the hole for the first time the other night and pulled a 1.491 also i forgot to metion his car weighed exactly the same as yours at 3255 with me in it.

Lynda - it was nice meeting you and Clint - and finally running at the famed HRP.. .

I thought I was hooking really well on all my passes, but after watching the video of my first pass - there's smoke behind both my tires, even pulling the left wheel off the ground. 1.67 60'. I re-set my front HALs for the next run and got a 1.63 and a 12.05 @ 111.8. My mph dropped(like yours) as the humidity went up. Plus, I wasn't getting any timing up top(21.5 deg's) - no KR, but O2s in the .93's and higher! Not to mention -10 deg's torque management on all 1-2 shifts... The car was just falling on it's face after that.

Lynda, you say you werent spinning. Sometimes it is hard to see.
Paint a white line on the rear tires. It is much easier to see that white line than to see if the black tires spin.

Yup looks like your not hooking up. High 11s easy once you get a decent 60ft.
