I agree use Viper or another D.E.I. product. The new ungo stuff(clarion) is made by dei as well this year. Please keep in mind that window modules put more strain on your window motors, due to the fact that they dont stop as soon as they get to the top or bottom of their travel.

i actually took my window module out for this reason, when i blew 2 motors in about 6 months, you will actually hear the motor still going when the windows are all the way up or down

EDIT: by the way if you are intrested in the viper, check out my other post

A thief will get your car regardless if you have an alarm or not. In my opinion alarms or more of a "ear" and "eye" candy type thing. If your looking for protection then I would save up the money and get the "lo-jack" system or some other type of gps tracking system that hides in your vehicle.
This way the cops will have a better chance on locating and recovering your car.
Keep in mind, a thief cannot outrun a satellite.

most DEI products have GPS tracking available, and cheaper than lo jack

DEI's tracking system lets you track it yourself. It will also unlock your doors for you just in case you lock them in. It will pretty much do all the functions that you dealer hook it up to do, but from your computer.
