Has anyone removed the paint from SS 10 spokes and polished them?
I prefer a polished aluminum wheel to a chromed look. I was wondering if anyone has gone to the trouble of polishing a 10 spoke wheel. How did you do it and what did you do about your center cap? I suppose I could buy the polished anniversary wheels as a alternative but that will be expensive. Can anyone offer any help here?

I tried this a few years ago and it was a pain to do if you do it yourself. First off removing all the paint where the spokes meets the rim took a long time. Second: The sides of the spokes unlike the front are a rough cast aluminum and will take up most of your time. I finally gave up and sold them so someone else can repaint them. It's not worth the time unless you pay a professional wheel shop.

aircraft remover will take the paint of then just sand them smooth and use your polish of choice. It helps to have an extra set of wheels and the tires off to make it a little bit easier. Also i recommend the Flitz polishing ball, it works really good. Just stick it on a drill and start polishing. Good Luck
