Grudge racing on a 1/8 track last sunday. The LT1 was a 96 Camaro with mods, the cobra an 04,both cars were M6s.They couldn't hook well and they had poor reaction time,my T/A put like 3 to 4 car lengths on them. They would only race me one time, after that they wouldn't line up against me. :)

Nice "kills". I say "kills" because it was at a track, not on the street.
Anyway, what time did you put down?

I say poor cobra i thought they'd be able to keep up more than 3 or 4 cars in the 1/8

I can consistently run 8.1ss.I've learned if you don't spin your tires and hit a good light, you can out run faster cars. It's pretty easy with an A4.

I agree. Slicks and a converter makes it that much more fun too;)

Keep in mind this was at the track, it's possible that the Cobra ate up his R/T in order to cut a better 60'. If not, it seems like he just got flat out beat at the tree by Fast Eddie.

Wait a minute... are you implying kills at the track aren't legit?

It depends. It's a kill if it's a bracket race. He said it was a grudge match so that's a kill. I hate it when people are at a test 'n tune night and post about "kills". I for one race the clock, not the guy in the next lane when I'm testing.

What about when a Supercharged Saleen S-281 forgoes a race with an F-350 so that he can line up next to me... and then I proceed to smoke him? ;) hehehehehe...
I seriously hate that car by the way... who the hell would buy that car over the Cobra?

I agree with unit and jon ... not everyone is actually at the track to race the guy next to him. Not saying this was the case in your situation tho.
Nice kills.

:werd: All my ricer friends make fun of my 2-3 second reaction time since I'm always shooting for the 60'. If I was a halfway decent driver, I'd have the good 60' times to back myself up. But I suck, so I'm just fucked anyway.

I don't like grudge racing as well as bracket racing. We will be bracket racing on the 27th of this month.I don't stand a chance grudge racing,an old school Camaro ran a 7.2 for 1st place and a 70s something grand prix ran a 7.4 for second place, there were only three trophys to hand out.
I'm not trying to shit anybody on the 04 Cobra kill, the poor kid got beat by four car lengths right out of the hole. This is only my second year racing, but i think this kid with the cobra was very inexperienced.
The other kid with the LT1 Camaro came by after we raced and asked if the T/A was an LS1,I said yes with a smile.
My goal right now is to run an 8 second run in the 1/8 th. does anyone know what that would equate to in the 1/4 mi.

An 8.0 1/8th is right around a 12.1-12.2 in the 1/4. At least that is my experience. It really depends on ther power your car is making. Some cars pull like a freighttrain in the last 1/8th.

Most everyone accepts 1/8 time times 1.5 for the 1/4. :)
