JS basically I have a .060 over block and forged pistons to match SBC 6" rods. It's a great budget setup but I think you'd be happier with a 388 all bore. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />

Chris what motive do u have in asking about my shortblock. My short block is PERFECT buddy.Leave the rebel roushing BS at the door buddy.Come on man that was uncalled for.....

Dont u think I could ask Julio to build me a stroker or bog bore Chris?I just wanted to see if Terry wanted to get off that stuff CHEAP.

Dont worry chris I'll be at F-body race at Cecil.
My car is getting the gears today and alittle more tuning over the weekend. Then I'll add the K-member and lighten her up 60 to 75 lbs.Get her to the track one more time before Cecil.I'll be READY to go.

haha Joel dont be upset <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

Normally if someone asks about buying a built shortblock they generally want to replace their existing one?
No malice intended here <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />
I can understand if you want to upgrade it to handle extra revs etc. Revving a stock shortblock to 7000rpm puts it on borrowed time.

Let me know how you find the gears with the 28's. I think the gear change will net about .05, the weight about .075. Not sure on the retune. So in similar conditions provided you can hook you should be able to hit an 11.165 give or take not taking into account tuning.
Not bad for a heavy combo!

Cheers,
Chris

Solid roller forged shortblock?
hmmm? <img border="0" title="" alt="[Confused]" src="images/icons/confused.gif" />
Do you mean you are switching your cam/valvetrain setup to solid and running a forged piston stock CI motor with good rods, bolts etc?? If so that would be sweet <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />
Cheers,
Chris

I will build something WICKED for the car over the summer. This was just the beginning.I'll keep my heads the same way they r now other than switch to solid roller springs/retainers.Yes I'll go forged rod/piston but stock crank.I hope to net me about 20RWHP going to a balanced solid roller shortblock. Then I can hit a 100 shot without out fear too...

Chris most guys r here dont weigh there cars/check weather. They assume alot of things.I will be at Cecil with my car and I cant wait til we see what other cars weigh and what my car weighs.I know I have the HEAVIEST H/C car without a doubt going 11.20's or better in the Country.

That my not seem like a big deal but the last time I checked there was only 4 or 5 10-Sec H/C cars in the Country and ALL of them were 3500 or lighter.

I need an advantage somewhere.
Maybe I need to eat less <img border="0" title="" alt="[Roll Eyes]" src="images/icons/rolleyes.gif" />

Okay Chris I'll keep u a breast of the setup.
I know at 6800 threw the lights the shortblock is only gonna last a season.Thats why I'm building a solid roller 346 forged shortblock <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />

The fall is gonna be fun
