racing with skinnies
I just ordered skinnies for my camaro. I am curious of how the car will handle with the 15x4 wheels. Handling should feel better with the bias up front instead of the radial, right. I am not sure exactly what to expect with my high horsepower car. Tell me how it feels with your car.

Re: racing with skinnies
You would have to tell us more on you skinnies set up. Wheel/Tire, etc.
I run the Convo Pro 15x3.5, 1.75 BS with 5/16 spacers, with Firestone 165x15 metrics (el-cheap-o $35 a piece). Works great. You bet the first time I went to the track it felt really weird. It did not take any time to get use to it. First time running them the dash lite up with ABS and brake lights flashing. Thought I broke something. But I didn't. Shut off the car, re-started no lights no problems

They are convo pro 15x4 with 1.75 BS. Do I need a spacer.(Car is in shop). My tires are 25" Moroso DS2 with eibach drag springs. I have been worned about the ABS light thing.

You'll feel a little difference but nothing dramatic. Since both your front and back tires are non-bias they will not be as bad as mine -- front radial style and back bias.
I would have them just in case. Nothing like getting ready to put the car down after install and find out the wheels will not turn . You can try them without first. I run the spacers because I'm chicken to try without them - bad experence without them. Make sure you order their lug nuts-- I order the 12Mx1.50 closed lug nuts.

Re: racing with skinnies
I tried some skinnies for the first time last Friday night at a local drag stripe in my area. In the past I was to lazy to change, because my ET times kept coming down, but I finally reached a plateau and finally ran them. Make sure the skinnies wheels are tighten down tight and make sure your brakes work before you go charging down the quarter mile run. At the end of the run, to me, it seems to take longer to stop the car with the skinnies than the normal setup. The car will be much more bouncey and has a tendency for car to hit concrete around curses and bumps--so be careful. I put my skinnies on at the track, I would advise you to do the same. It will bring your ET down and increase your MPH. I hope this helps.
