I plan on running 16" et streets on stock firebird rims for weekend street racing. I am hearing mixed things.

who's using a tube?
who's not using a tube?

all the big sources have them. summit, jegs, etc. it is preference. i have them but my next set i will not get them. they are a safety thing, but i dont think it is worth it unless you are in the 1.4x area.

I'm not running tubes because MT told me not to use tubes. No tubes work great on the 16"

Im with Bob on this one. I have never used a tube in any kind of race tire I have ever owned and never had any problems.

No tubes in my 26" x 11.5" x 15" ET Streets. I have cut a best 60 ft. of 1.51. I don't think you need tubes or wheel screws. The tire bead seats well enough that will take at least 1.3x 60 fts. to spin the tire on the wheel.
