LS1 building guide? I'm building my LS1 from scratch- that is, I'm buying pretty much all the parts individually and assembling it all myself. what I need is a complete list of parts (even down to the bolts and screws), and also a "how to" assembly guide for the LS1. Someone was telling me to get a Factory Service manual- would that be the best route to go?

wow if your on an $8k budget including the car and going to buy all of the parts individually good luck lol. You'd be way better off buying a used assembled engine out of a wrecked car or something along those lines. Unless you plan to build a forged bottom end then that's different.
