Default Allow TCC lock during shift.

What is the difference when selecting true or false?

This is how Chris at Slowcar descibes it.
"A4 TCC Tab - Allow TCC lock during shift:
This determines whether the TCC can be locked through a shift (if locked before) or if the computer will force disengagement."

I still don't get it.

The PCM does not allow TC lockup in any gear but 3&4. When you're cruising in 3rd with the TC locked up and the PCM commands and upshift into 4th, the PCM disengages the TCC, shifts to 4th and then locks it back up. That specifies to keep the converter locked on the 3-4 upshift. Only time I can think of why you'd want to do that is if you want to lock your converter at WOT in 3rd and allow a full throttle 3-4 gear change.

I don't think this works on the 98's w/ LS1Edit ... I have this set on the g/f's car, and it will still unlock, upshift, and re-lock ..

Ive tried locking the converter at WOT in 3rd, but could not get it to do it. Is that because my setting is false?

My cars setting has always been false. It's a 2003 C5. All other prior year settings I've seen have been true. There is no default setting choice as we know default.

I wonder if it will with HPtuners.

I'll try it tomorrow.

I dont think thats why. You probably don't have the parameters for lockup just right.

I had the lockup settings correct. Are you saying that it doesn't matter whether true or false is selected in order to get lockup in 3rd at WOT?
The reason why I asked if a true setting would cause it to work is that the subject of WOT lockup in 3rd has been discussed before and the conclusion has been a switch is needed to make it happen, so I wondered if we had missed something with regard to the true and false settings.
