I think I dropped a lifter, how much will this cost to fix?

As in "dropped it while swapping a cam" or as in "suspecting lifter is cause of car not running right" ?

If the lifter fell from it's bore you will need to have the heads pulled to fish them out, unless by some miracle they made their way into the oil pan.

Taking it to a dealship will set you back quite a bit. $3000 at least. Labor to pull the engine out of the car, then take the heads off, find the lifter, replace it, put the heads back on, put it back in the car. For the money you spend for that, you could have a performance shop build you quite a motor.

Well, My car makes a really bad tick after doing a stupid *** 3rd-2nd shift at around 80mph . I was told I could have dropped a lifter or maybe bent a pushrod.

sounds like a bent push rod not a dropped lifter...you can't drop a lifter only really collapse one, or hydrolock it by bending a pushrod and it overpumps with oil and won't bleed down.

Open your valve covers and check for bent pushrods. I think that's your problem.

More than likely a bent pushrod, factory lifters in these cars can take a beating especially if you have the stock cam then it's 98% a pushrod.

I have not been driving it. How safe is it to drive if it is a bent pushrod? or a collapsed lifter?

wouldn't be a good idea, could possibly do further damage, it all depends on how bad it is, could be scraping up against the head sending metal shavings throughout your engine, will pound away at the bottom of the rocker seat etc. Not advised especially until you know 100% what the problem is.
