Default Going from a Vig 2800 to a Yank SS 3600 help?

I like the way the car drives the way it is but would like more stall than what I have. The Vig 2800 stalls at 3200 on motor and when I spray it goes close to 4000. I was told I wanted a tighter converter since I am spraying the car? Would I be wasting my money going with this converter? The car hooks really well on the street and always ran good numbers but I am getting the fever of wanting more stall.

I take it your spraying 100 Shot NX by your sig. If it were me I'd step on up to the SS4000 anymore spray than that I'd back down to the SS3800. That is if you are wanting the SS series converter. Me personally I'd be going with the PT series or a TCI 4000 converter. JMHO.

Thanks for the response. I am only going to be running a 100 shot on the car don't intend to go any higher. I just wanted to get more out of the car on motor. I have yet to take it to the track since I put the cam in. I was told the SS line would be the way to go for me. I have been trying to reach Mike at Yank since last week with no luck. But I hear this is common he is hard to reach. I am looking at a used SS 3800 local but just wanted to get feedback. This car is not a daily driver and only goes to the track every so often.

The SS line seems aight. I had a SS3800 and switched to the PT4000. There is no comparison between the two. If your wanting the best of both worlds you'll be lacking N/A with the SS series. Go with a PT for best possible n/a times. Make sure if you buy a used converter that it is without problems and it is probably best to send it in to get refreshed. Might as well restall it to a 4000 at the same time.

Why not try restalling to a vig 3200 first and seeing how that does. Are you within the free restall period?

I thought about doing that as well. I still have a year left on my restall. I was going to buy a bigger stall from Yank and give it a try. I am bored and want a bigger stall and if I don't like it I can always put the Vig back in and sell the Yank.

I restalled a Vig2800 to a Vig3600. It was pretty loose but definitely fun to drive. I would not go over the Vig3200 for spray.

Maybe you should try changing your gears. People have gotten some quick 60ft times with the vig2800 stall and 3.42 gears.

Hell I used to pull 1.6 60' with my Vig2800 on Nittos all day long with just bolt ons.

That is great 1.6 times with bolt ons. I have cut a best of 1.65 60' on the spray. I also live in Florida which only has a few good tracks and they are a drive to get to. Orlando Spinworld is the closest track and traction is hard to find there.

I thought about going to the 342 gear but I thought it would be that much harder on the weak 10 bolt rear and then have traction issues? When the rear brakes I will put in a 12 bolt.

Thanks for all the great replys guys.
