Default finally 12's

My 2nd time at the drag strip was yesterday. I drove 200 miles to Cedar Falls Raceway, the closest decent track. I got there and was dissapointed right away with the 20mph head wind, and thought no way would I dip into the 12's. Well my 1st run was a 12.99@109. My 2nd run was a 12.8 @103.... I missed 4th and went into 6th. My car has been REAL hard to shift into 4th above 5,000 rpms. My next run I launched at 3,500 rpms on BFG drag radials, and my clutch slipped to a 1.898 60' time 8.203 1/8mile @87.2mph, and had a hard time shifting to 4th again... it was a long pause between 3rd and 4th, and my pedal stuck to the floor a little bit. I managed a 12.72@ 109.17mph. Pretty good for only and exhaust and lid.

Great job Red02LS1. I was at CFR last Sat. from 10:00 until about 12:45 in the afternoon. I didn't see any other 4th gens at the time so I went home. I had to drive about 80 minutes. My best that day was a 13.02 @ 107.52 mph w/ a 2.009 60 foot. I needed the HPP3 to get that close to 12's. W/o HPP3 I can only run 13.1's. I was dissapointed I couldn't get into the 12s. I did like 8 runs and gave up. It's very hard for me to get this car to cut a decent 60 ft. I've been to 5 different tracks and I still cannot get below a 2.00 60 ft. w/ or w/o the BFG DR's. I now wonder if I should've bought a 6 speed.

Get a High-Stall converter and some drag radials.
You will be looking at mid-12's then.
BTW - Tri-State in Earlville, IA is a great hooking track, I always run my best there.
