How much will lightweight carpet save me if I use my stock sound deadener?

Re: How much will lightweight carpet save me if I use my stock sound deadener? I have seem this posted before in this forum. Unless somebody responds with answer, I recommend you to do a search for carpet or something similiar. I believe it saves around 10 pounds or so.

Re: How much will lightweight carpet save me if I use my stock sound deadener? It weighs more than 10. I started at 45 lbs with full carpet, & backing. I'm counting the sound deadener that is around the shifter hump, but not attached to the carpet. Took off the backing, and the shifter deadener, went down to 25 lbs. Cut the carpet in half, so I can take the back piece out at the track. Now I am down to about 10 lbs

Re: How much will lightweight carpet save me if I use my stock sound deadener? The pressed-rag sound deadenener in my car weighed out at 14 pounds. The carpet itself is rubber-backed, and that's why it's so damn heavy.
