Default my quest for 10's n/a ..........continues

Well I went back to St.Thomas on Saturday to try and improve on my best n/a run of 11.03@125.0. What I was really shooting for was a 10 second pass. My runs cosisted of:
With my 26x11.5x16 Et Streets:

run..60'.........et.......mph
1...1.590..11.045..124.91
2...1.623..11.059..125.71
3...1.661..11.099..125.71
4...1.583..11.002..126.09
5...1.608..11.075..125.01
6...1.613..11.054..122.93

Then I got pissed and went to my 28x10.5x15w's Et drags:

run
7...1.569..11.094..125.27
8...1.532..11.037..125.63
9...1.545..11.000..125.01....so close yet so far
10.1.561..11.006..125.00

Maybe I should start bracket racing my 6 speed?

I tried as hard as I could and no go. At least I had a chance to meet a lot of new people. Hopefully we'll see the same faces around St.Thomas in the near future.

My car weighs in at about 3900 lbs, with about everything that is bolted in removed. Do you guys have any suggestions for my goal? I AM going back this Saturday to do it.

Thanks for all of your help, Taner and of course Jennie.

Thanks guys.

That is some seriously amazing consistency for an M6 car!

That is very impressive, but I have one question, how does your car weigh 3900 lbs!?!?!? I though my car weighing 3720 lbs was bad enough.

Looks like if you can ditch some weight you are there. I saw your car at ARE last fall. Your cage is awesome. I can see how your car is heavy though.

I'd ditch the AIR system and AIR pump, cruise control, front bumper support, front swaybar brackets carpeting in the rear of the car, and run with no catback.

romanss,

Just wondering what your rwhp/rwtq is?

You have a very heavy car.

I'm asking because I'm hoping for mid to high 10's as soon as I get my car back.

It's heavy but I love my fat baby.

PSJ, I was thinking about dropping the exhaust for my next attempt. Maybe later I'll be getting the bumper support replacement, that'll save, if I'm not mistaken 18 lbs.

Quicken, I haven't dynoed since my last update but it was around the 490/490 mark.

So I get the feeling from you guys is that my biggest barrier is the weight?

Man, that must be frustrating at hell!!! An 11.00 that must have pissed you off! I'd like to give you a TON of credit for drving as consitently as your times show. That shows some major skill!! Good luck!

You'll have your 10 second pass in no time. Just start pulling some weight. Still very impressive though.

Trust me I know how you feel...

As Onyx LS1 said, pull a little weight and your in the 10's.

You need to go out this weekend and Bracket Race your Hot Rod. Let us know how she runs the next time out.

Those are aweson times with uniform and systematic 60' times. It was interesting not much difference in times with the two different size tires. I am sure you will meet your quest because you are so close. I hope one day to get to your times. Anyway, take off that weight and frame that first 10 second slip.

Chris, you wouldn't believe how pissed I was when I seen that 11.000 on the slip. I actually had the in car camera running and it was funny to see my reactions to my time slips.

Onyx, I'm going to start pulling(at least for the strip). It's surprising to see someone else with that 11.000. Sorry to hear it man. Good luck with your goal.

Coach, I might have the opportunity to try some bracket this weekend, we'll see. I enjoy t&t more though.

Kent, the frame awaits. I'm confident that I'll get it, but I'll live if I don't. I just want to make as much use of the mid 50's weather that we're having right now.

Nice job Roman! With a little weight out of the car, 10s will be easy. Nice 60's!
