Mine drops to about -4* on the 1-2 shift with ET streets.

Terry, do you have LS1 Edit? If so, page Fireball, I'm pretty sure that they were tinkering around with an A4 last week, and found a way to get positive timing during the shifts, rather than the negative timing that you are seeing now. Only bad part is that it's probably much harder on the tranny. Good luck

Every year model has torque management.
I believe every car is set up to drop the timing to -4 on shifts from GM.

Some people have claimed to go faster by deleting it, and others havent.
Im one of the ones who thinks it didnt make any difference in 1/4 mile times.

If you are getting custom programming you might as well delete it, but in my opinion it shouldnt be what motivates the spending of 400 dollars.

so just deleting torque management may not take care of it? no I don't have ls1 edit. try so hard to make the car fast and this damn loss between shift SUCKS!

thanks!

Is the severe lag your tranny slipping?
Torque management doesnt feel like lag as much as it just feels like the motor cuts out. If I had to describe it with extreme phrasing I would say it feels like the car falls on its face. In that if I were to say that the car feels like its lagging (or sloppy) between shifts, I would guess that is a slipping tranny.

Have you checked your fluid with the car running and at operating temperature?
How beat up is your tranny?

it's definately a severe lag between shifts, the tranny isn't abused at all. Fluid level is fine and new fileter and fluid when I installed my vig 3200 last month. It's not slipping.

I just tried my et streets, now between shifts I notice a severe lag which will definately hurt et. I noticed this lag a bit when I fixed my kinked fuel line for my charger (more fuel pressure) but now with the et streets it is very noticable!

I tried to lean the fmu 1/4 turn for my charger but still does it...

Do 99's have the torque management problem like the 01 & 02's?

we've deleted it on a customers car...BIG difference on the shifts...

but it'll definately shorten the life of the tranny

we have a full version of edit at the shop near Baltimore if you want it erased <img border="0" title="" alt="[Razz]" src="gr_tounge.gif" />

fireball,

what would it cost to get you to delete it for me and bump up the idle a bit? I am an hour from pittsburgh and would drive to baltimore if it's within 4 hours.

thanks!!

how much would it COST me to just do a th400?

i keep thinking about deleting mine, but i dont really wanna kill the tranny.. heck it may not even hurt it.. but just normal driving i can notice it big time.. like everyone said, it feels like the tranny slips/cuts off then picks back up..

its a PITA.. even though i have edit, im still iffy on it
