Default Need cam spec ideas 383 stroker!

New member here. Trying to find out some ideas.

383 stroker

4"x3.905
11.2 compression
310I@600, 237E@600
1 7/8 headers
TH 400 W/3800
12bolt 4.10

What kinda cam would you run, needs to be hydrolic. For race only, also I will be spraying like 200 shots later on.

Thanks in advance.

do a search on stroker cams. it seems LG has some cams that are on the larger side that really like nitrous, also TSP. should give them a call, they're both great shops to call and just talk to about stuff, at least in my experience.

I was told to run like 234/239 600 lift 114LSA. I think thats to small. I tried the search couldnt find anyone that runs big cams on 383's. I was wondering maybe thats max cam for these motors?

I'm looking to get a much bigger cam for drag only with occasional n2o use. currently have 236/232 112 .602/.575
futrual recommended 238/242 113lsa and they know a hell of a lot more than me about this stuff. I was expecting something larger

If you want an available grind go with the tr trex or get a custom grind from Futral MS or Cartec and go even bigger!!!!!!!!!!!!!Or LG motorsports they are all just as capable!!!!!!!!!!!!Lets not forget TSP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! There is a lot of new development coming out of TEXAS.

So would my G5X2 i have sitting in our shop be considered small
in a 383 stoker. I am not crazy about the drivabillity issues i
had with it in my stock motor. Im currently running a 230/230 on
a 112 now and its perfect for me. If anyone is not familiar with
the specs of the X2 (doubt it) 232/240-595/609 112lsa+4.

It will be much more driveable in the larger CI motor. When you add 25 or so CI the driveability gets better exponentaly. No it is not considered small in a 383 it is about average maybe even considered a large cam about a year ago!
