Default Paging project DRAGULA (PSJ)...Friday was good weather!

I heard from a few that Friday night got them some new MPH bests.

Did your MPH go up with the new tuning and setup on the car? Share the difference in MPH + or - if you don't want to give up your trap speeds.

I'm just curious weather BV performance has got the big injector cars worked out yet. Was it worth it from a performance standpoint?

Well, give us a race report. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" /> As much as I've read about "dragula" I'd like to see the progress reports.
What gives?

Micky Thompson doesn't make a tire in that size.

You must have your numbers wrong. OR....I don't have an updated jobber list.

I guess we'll see what she does on the big tire then....definitely more room left on the 60 foot.

Why were you running on these tires and not a true slick?

What convertor did you switch to after the BG race?
Arent you running a 3.90 gear?

Just curious <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

BG/NFRA I had a Yank 4400 but it was stalling to 5300 because of all the tq of the new motor. Car would not hook a 28x9x15 ET Drag at BG because of the huge stall. I sent it back and now it's really great on the street but too tight at the track.

Car has a 4.10 in it.

OH, and in Jan/02 I went 1.51 and dead hooked. A few hours later I went 1.53-15.6's and I spun about 5 feet on those runs. I can only guess that a 1.61-1.65 for me now feels like I am spinning for a car length.

John,

Just a heads up. I just got around to installing the colonel converter in my car. haven't tested it yet. I have a whole new tranny being built so probably in a month or ( don't anticipate more than two ) the colonel's old converter will be up for sale. If you might be interested give me a buzz, stephen can give you even more details on how it ran.

You added like 20rwhp in dyno tuning right? Did MPH pick up?

He's talking about M&H, not Mickey Thompson. M&H have been making race slicks a long time, and recently they've gotten really really popular with the fwd import crowd. Some of thier tires wrinkle very well it seems.

This what you're running John?

I still want to know where the 200# of lead is hidden in John's car. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />

Pain, I'll call you in a little...

Crazy, I have M&H Racemaster, full treaded 275-60-15 DOT bias ply. They have a full tread pattern all the way across not just 3-5 grooves in them.

Terry, I went from 419rwhp unlocked to 450rwhp unlocked.

I talked to Mike Senia @ Yank and we feel that my 3800-4100TP-E is probably a bit too tight for my 10 second NA goals.

I talked to Nick @ ARE today too and he's thinking I need to loosen up the converter. May try locking up the converter to see how many mph it picks up. I still have my manual l/u switch.

Hey John, I stopped by MTI today. My heads are done and the block is being assembled. I might have the car running by this weekend.

Are you gonna let me get 10s first? I've been down over 3 months!

I've been to the track twice since they opened, which was less than four weeks ago. I have 10 runs on the car.

I haven't hooked better than a 1.61 on the MH's and a 1.65 on the ET Streets.

I guess I go get those 28's on Thursday so I can run this weekend.

I'm at that point where some mad weight reduction will take place just to run a #.

On pump gas of course... Will yoooooo be able to run on pump gas? <img border="0" title="" alt="[Razz]" src="gr_tounge.gif" />

John that is a really big RWHP jump! What did the MPH do?

I'm still a big confused by your power level, clearly something isn't right with the motor. Most of the 421ci+ motors are putting out 475-525rwhp. Maybe there is a rocker issue or something? With that much torque and 4.10s you should not need any more than a 4000rpm stall. I probably have 100#/ft less torque than you and leave just fine with a stock TP4400. The other strange thing is your weight. I still don't understand how you wound up at 3750. You are a full 350# heavier than my 2001 Z28! How is that possible?!?

Most of the MTI 422+ cars are M6's and I have not locked up the converter to see how much I would gain. PaiN's car is a A4/422ci but has LS6 heads, more compression too.

I'm wondering if my TP-E 3800 is too luggy on the shifts for an NA car I have like very little shift extension. I make 430rwhp by 4800 rpms FWIW.

For comparison, WeatherGuy made ~445-450 at 4800. He has an M6, R1 cam with LS6 heads though a 12 bolt FWIW. Sounds like you are on the right track up to that point.

J.

edit-that was the only 422 dyno I could find right off hand.

2000 11.76@114mph H/C/3.50/PI3600
2001 11.15@120mph 422ci iron/4.10/Yank3800

Fri went 11.3 spinning on 1.61-1.64's on treaded bias plys... raceweight was probably around 3750.

I'm in process of getting 28x10x15 Hoosier Drags, but I wiill not run the car until I do some weight reduction, I just added dual 3" stainless mufflers...
