Default High Sulfur Shell Gasoline

Looks like my fuel gauge is stuck on the "Full" position. As a regular user of Shell gasoline this is most likely attributable to the high sulfur content of their fuel they have been refining lately.

Have any of you encountered this problem, filed a claim with Shell, or have experienced any other problems? What is involved in repairing the problem?

Pissed Off in Louisiana,

Wasn't this an isolated problem in the N.O. area?

i have a claim pending with shell...

my gauge was stuck to full, now its moving some, but takes 100 miles before its under the full level

the quote from the dealer is $1049 to fix The part is $90 or so (dealer only replaces the assembly on the 1998's $540 for pump/sender)

I will be happy with anything, as im droping the tank for my ractronis setup in a few months anyway.

i'll keep you posted... the adjuster should have contacted me earlier this week, i better call them monday

Thanks for the reply. Will the Shell Oil Company be reimbursing you for a rental car while your's is being repaired? What about loss of value, inconvenience, etc?
