Default Is the TRex & G5X-2 the only 2 cams that have pushed stocked headed cars into the 10s

Just wondering if there were any other cams out there that have pushed stocked headed, stock bottom end, naturally aspirated cars over the edge into the 10s? If so, what other ones? Any word if there are cams in the works soon to come out that are suppose to "out do" whats currently out?

Don't think so, a lot of big cams, all bolt ons, light race weight cars can get there, especially those ******* A4's!!

Orange Peel: Dont think so about what? (I had more than 1 question.) I know there are a lot of big cams out there, but Im wanting to know which ones have pushed stock headed, stock bottom end, naturally aspirated cars into the 10s.

Insomniak: Is there a particular member/person youre referring to and is there more than 1 person that has done this with the G5X-3? I ask this because I thought this was a fairly new cam.

01-Z/BAIN: Do you know Mike's setup?

Im looking for cams that are consistent on the boarderline, and will run 10s all day with good weather and track prep. Not just a cam that with all the perfect conditions will get you a 10 sec. slip.

when I said I don't think so, I was referring to the X2 and TREX being the only cams only cars in the 10's, I am sure there are a lot more cam only cars running custom grind larger cams that are there. They probably aren't on the boards or don't post. I am sure the X3 can do it, the FM13 probably could too, the TSP 237 probably can, it's just depends on the setup. If the person has a lighter car, all the supporting mods, etc. And I don't know of any secret cams that are coming out, sorry. I run the X3 and won't hit 10's, be lucky to get 11.7's with my pig, 3800+ lb race weight.

An A4 car probably has a better chance of 10's only than a 6 speed car I would guess.

The M2 has or had the fastest cam only Vette.I think it was also faster than the heads and cam, stock displacement Vettes.

Vette's don't scare me.
I don't have a shop car, I bought the G5X-2 from LG.
There is NO ONE even close to me in positive DA, with a stock, untouched bottom end
and heads that have never been off the car.
My car is light, and with a bigger cam, I bet i can hit high 10.50's in good weather.

10's isnt just about the right cam, its a mix of suspension, drivetrain, track prep, weater, etc.

Well Im looking for a cam thats going to give me the best chance to get into the 10s with stock heads, stock bottom end, naturally aspirated. Im either going to do 4.10 with 26" slicks so that if I ever decided to spray later I will have some room to do so, or 4.56 with 28" slicks. My current setup is in my sig. but as mentioned, I plan on doing a 12 bolt with a bigger gear, more converter, remove weight, and throw in a different cam.

TRex is best bet so far. or if you have a light car there are a few others that will do it consistantly. but like was said, its not just the cam. with a m6 you need to be able to drive hard and not screw up, but you have a auto so you should be good to go. and set suspension parts right, and have right tire/gear combo.

Are 4.10s big enough to turn a 28" tire in an A4 with a YTP4200? Would you recommend going bigger? Thanks.

4.10 is a great gear for 28" tires if you are looking to go over 122 mph and 10s

I don't think I'll be making the power to push 122+ trap speeds. Will a 4.10 still be optimal for say a 118 trap speed? Thanks.
