Default Car smokes between shifts and on decel

A buddy of mine is having these problems in a WS6. It's a 6 speed and we notice when he races it smokes between shifts and at the end when he's braking/slowing down the car is smoking a good bit. We checked and there is some oil behind the throttle body. It's a 99 with stock pcv system. Could that be the culprit or should we get into rings and seals with a leakdown?

I think I'd do a leak down test. Smoking on decel is a classic engine sign of rings that have issues.

You might try the PVC mod first, its cheap and easy but I'd be worried about the rings.

Good luck.

Yep, equandt is right. A leakdown is definately in need.
