I can't figure it out.........am i dumb?

I think it is just the package code, like Z06 for the vette is just the GM part code aren't they?

It's been an option code since at least the 70s... (the '79 WS6 had rear disc brakes... very desirable to us second gen owners ). The Third Gen WS6 had stiffer springs, bigger swaybars, different shocks, and rear discs as well (I parted one of those out - had a TBI motor / 700R4 trans). Only in '96 did it take on the ram air / wheel package.

ALL of the 3rd Gen Firebird Formulas had WS6 as a standard, non-optional package. BEST of the 3rd Gen's, in my opinion.
